My name is Jake Anderson. I live in Yale, Iowa with my growing family. We had our first daughter in 2021 as we finished remodeling our 1904 farmhouse. We then had a second daughter in 2022 and a son born in March 2024. My wife, Megan, grew up in Panora. We lived in Des Moines but bought an acreage outside of Yale in 2018 and have been making it our own ever since.
I started on this career path in high school taking early diesel technology classes before starting at DMACC in 2012. I worked for a towing company in high school working on trucks and later started an internship at a Caterpillar dealership working on agricultural equipment. I got offered the full-time position but turned it down to help with my family's business in Des Moines. After leaving the family business I went to work for a grading company as a field technician. I worked on construction equipment, agricultural equipment, and heavy-duty trucks gaining a lot of my diverse experience there. After working there for several years I went back to the Caterpillar dealership to work on agricultural equipment.
I now would like to do the work for my family, not a dealer, and to have something to pass down to the next generation. I am starting this business to help people in our area save some money on costly repairs and also to stay closer to my family. As hourly prices go up I saw an opportunity to try and make this business happen finally! I want to repair machines that others may not have the knowledge or skill to do for themselves as well as teach them and assist them along the way to be able to do repairs that they want to do on their own. I want to be transparent with customers where dealerships may hide information to be able to make money further down the road.
